Collection: Geta Sandals

Geta are the traditional wooden sandals of Japan. Worn for centuries with kimono and yukata, they are still a familiar sight at summer festivals, in hot-spring towns and at cultural events. Our collection brings together classic geta sandals and geta clogs in wood and cloth, from natural wood designs to colorful straps made for festival season.

How to choose your geta

Size: we offer geta in EU sizes 34 to 46. Each product lists the sole length in centimeters and inches, so measure your foot before ordering. Traditionally, geta are worn with the heel resting slightly over the back edge, so many people choose their usual size.

Style: classic geta stand on wooden teeth (ha) and make the characteristic "clack" when you walk, while flatter designs are easier for longer wear.

Strap: the fabric thong (hanao) softens with use, just like breaking in a new pair of shoes.

When to wear geta

Pair them with a kimono or yukata for festivals, weddings and Japanese-themed parties, use them for cosplay, or wear them as unique sandals at home and in the garden.
