Collection: Amulets

In Japan, lucky charms are part of everyday life, found in homes, shops and restaurants to attract good fortune and success. Our collection brings together the most popular Japanese amulets: the maneki neko lucky cat and the daruma doll.

Maneki neko, the Japanese lucky cat

The maneki neko, or beckoning cat, is believed to invite good luck, customers and prosperity. Traditionally, a raised left paw attracts customers, while a raised right paw attracts wealth. Colors carry meaning too: white for happiness and purity, gold for wealth, pink for love. Our maneki neko are made mainly of ceramic, some hand-painted, and many work as money boxes.

Daruma dolls

The daruma is a round doll inspired by Bodhidharma, the founder of Zen Buddhism, and a symbol of perseverance. According to tradition, you paint one eye when you set a goal and the other when you achieve it. Our ceramic daruma come in several colors and sizes, and many also work as money boxes.

A gift that brings good luck

A maneki neko or daruma is a meaningful gift for a new business, a housewarming, a graduation or a new year. Discover more Japanese gifts in our Japanese souvenirs collection.
